…says it is tailored to favour a particular aspirant

A group operating under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Anambra state has faulted the ANAMBRA STATE 2021 GUBERNATORIAL ELECTION/CANDIDATE NOMINATION TIME-TABLE AND SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES released by the National Working Committee of the party.
The group, Independent Leaders Forum-ILF in a statement signed by its Secretary Barr. Frank Molokwu Jnr and sent to AIF Media, said the time table issued in Abuja for Anambra state governorship election scheduled on November 6 is skewed towards favouring an aspirant.
The group after commending the NWC for the timely release of the Time-table said, “we observed some SUSPICIOUS ‘proposed activities’ that may not guarantee a ‘Transparent and Credible’ electoral process of which we wish to bring to the attention of the party faithfuls and the general public.”
It argued that publishing the list of delegates on June 25th, just 24 hours to the PDP primaries slated for June 26th is suspicious.
“Publication of delegates list” on June 25th, 2021, just 24 hours before the party Primary election scheduled for June 26th, 2021, even after NWC had approved the list of 3-man delegates on June 17th, 2021 is SUSPICIOUS.”
The Independent Leaders Forum-ILF therefore advised the NWC to tinker with the timetable and publish the list of delegates at least a week before the party primaries.
It says this will “give the Aspirants ample time for final canvassing of the delegates votes.”
The group therefore appealed to NWC of PDP ably led by Prince Uche Secondus to review the Time-table in order to bestow confidence on the Aspirants and Ndi-Anambra in general.
