Nimo, Anambra State – The Labour Party yesterday, 19th September 2025, recorded another major outing as former Presidential Candidate of the party, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party governorship candidate for the November 8 election, Dr. George Moghalu, and Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi, Deputy Minority Whip of the 10th House of Representatives, stormed Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area for what has been described as the second largest Labour Party rally in Anambra after the Onitsha flag-off.
The event marked the grand finale of the largest medical outreach ever organized in Anambra Central by an elected legislator since 1999. Hosted by Rt. Hon. Ozodinobi at Egwegwe Hall, Nimo, the outreach attracted a massive turnout from across Anaocha, Njikoka, and Dunukofia Federal Constituency.
The programme, initiated by Ozodinobi, provided free medical care across 22 towns in the constituency and ended on a high note with a solidarity rally. In a symbolic show of unity, Obi and Moghalu joined Ozodinobi and his supporters in a walk from Oye Nimo Market to Egwegwe Hall, where they interacted with party faithful and shared the Labour Party’s Recovery Agenda with the people.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ozodinobi expressed gratitude to his constituents for their overwhelming support, describing the presence of Obi and Moghalu as a demonstration of their unwavering commitment to the masses. He noted that the outreach, which reached thousands of beneficiaries, had become more than just a health programme but also a platform for renewed political engagement and solidarity.
The rally reportedly spanned the 109 wards of Anambra Central Senatorial District, strengthening the Labour Party’s grassroots connection and reinforcing its message of recovery and people-oriented governance.
It will be recalled that there were earlier speculations suggesting that Aja-Ajanze might be warming up for a wider political role in Anambra Central. When contacted then, he dismissed the rumours, urging the public not to rely on online speculation. He insisted that if there were any such development, his constituents and supporters would hear it directly from him.
However, judging from the massive turnout and the overwhelming show of solidarity at the Nimo event, political watchers believe something significant may indeed be in the works.
Daily News Reporters will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as the situation unfolds.
