Governor Obiano May Sanction Traditional Rulers who attended the openning ceremony of the Isolation Centre donated to the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi yesterday.
The source who spoke to us in anonymity said that the Traditional Rulers ought to have known that the Isolation Centre being donated is not to the best interest of the state government and a great art of sabotage for them to attend a function which the appointees of the state government has clearly stayed away from for obvious political implications.
The Anambra Progressives are a group of Anambrarians who came together to use their personal resources to help reduce the health risk that may come with the COVID-19 outbreak following the fact that the state government has no obvious structure on ground to contain the growing pandemic.
This group came under fire by the state government after the refuse to collapse the group into the state government covid-19 fund drive in the wake of the pandemic.
The Anambra State Government took to the social media and other media outlet in the peak of the pandemic to dissuade ndi Anambra from donating to the group principally because of the convener Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah who happens to be a strong member of the All Progressive Grand Alliance until they bridged their open contract with him.
However, the Traditional Rulers who attended this function must be few who are driven by passion for the welfare of ndi Anambra and must have viewed the project as a life saving project and are ready to face the consequences for the good of the masses.
As at the time of filing this report, we are waiting for the hatchet job Information Commissioner for Anambra State to make his release on the sanctions designed for ndi Igwe who attended the function.
We must recall that not too long ago, the State Government punished twelve monarchs for identifying with Prince Arthur Eze. Thus, this trend of punishing Royal Fathers though alien to Igbo culture is not new to ndi Anambra State.
