Okija Community Gears Up for ABIG NWANKWO FOUNDATION FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, Hopes to Uniting Youths Through Sport

In an exciting initiative aimed at fostering unity and empowering the youth, the ABIG NWANKWO FOUNDATION has announced the launch of its much-anticipated football tournament, aptly named the ABIG NWANKWO FOUNDATION FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT. The competition promises not only thrilling sportsmanship but also substantial prizes for the talented teams participating.

Under the patronage of Ichie ABIG Chimezie Nwankwo, Chairman of ABIG NWANKWO FOUNDATION and CEO of BIGLY GROUP, the tournament is set to kick off on December 1, 2023, at the esteemed St Peter’s Stadium, Ubahu Okija, with the final showdown scheduled for December 25th, 2023, at St Mary’s Field, Umuofor Okija.

The competition boasts an impressive array of prizes, including:

  • Winner: N1 million
  • 2nd Position: N500,000
  • 3rd Position: N300,000
  • Individual Team Support: N100,000 each upon registration

  • Cash Gifts: Awarded to the Best Player and Highest Goal Scorer

The participating teams are drawn from the nine OBI Areas of Okija, namely UBAHU, UMUOHI, UMUHU, UMUATUEGWU, UMUOFOR, UHUOWELE, UBAHUMONUM, UBAHUEZE, and ISIEKE.

In a recent phone interview with the Bigly group, it was emphasized that this tournament represents a significant step towards the development and growth of Okija, promoting unity and a sense of purpose within the community. Frank Igbojindu, CEO of AKPOAZAA GROUP and Coordinator of ABIG NWANKWO FOUNDATION, expressed his enthusiasm for organizing and coordinating the competition, ensuring it achieves its intended impact.

The primary objective of this football competition is to promote unity, encouraging the youth to actively engage in fostering peace and harmony within the Okija community. Additionally, it aims to drive the growth and development of the town, aligning with the philanthropic endeavors of Ichie ABIG Nwankwo, who has previously provided substantial humanitarian assistance to hundreds of people within and outside Okija.

Notably, Ichie ABIG Nwankwo annually celebrates Christmas and New Year by extending his generosity to thousands of young and elderly women in Okija, providing them with essential supplies, including bags of rice and other condiments.
