Opinion: The Many Sins Of Andy Uba

Senator Andy Uba

WHAT OFFENSE DID ANDY UBA COMMIT?

I have watched as desperate and wickedly how some people are bent on rubbing the image of the APC governorship candidate to the mud. And I ask, what offence did he commit?

Our people are most times short sighted. Andy Uba may not be a saint but definitely i know for sure that he is not the bad person many of our brothers are painting him to be.

Going by indices of rating a law Maker where he was as a Senator for two terms, he was a sussesful one. It is on record that he sponsored the highest number of bills in the 8th Senate.

Why do we forget this so soon. What do Senators do? To make laws I guess. Is this not better that the present where the Senators from the SE absconded from their duty the day an important voting on electronic transfer of votes was done, just to please the same people that controls them? Others indices of rating a Senator are incidental to the office(s) he has held.

You’ll be haste to accuse him of not attracting any project to his constituency. Sincerely, Andy Uba has a very weak media team. If not, I for one know some projects he has executed in our zone, monies he has advanced to both Catholic and Anglican churches.

Then he was a Senator, I have personally followed him to St. Joseph Catholic Church severally to support the church projects before this current status of cathedral which the church has attained.

It is verifiable that he influenced employment of many persons to various positions both in public service and political offices. Recently, he tarred a road in his home town Uga.

These may not satisfy our expectations from him. Our people are just too sentimental. His only offence is that he has a brother named Chris Uba who many think is a bad person or influence. Haba! How can we go this low because of the type of politics we have introduced/ play in Anambra state?

Andy Uba is well experienced and far more better than many other aspirants.

I do not want to go into bringing others down which is the stock in trade of many of our brothers. If not, why have we suddenly find out that the Isuofia man is our beautiful bride? What has really changed? The same man who could not allow the only project he attracted (Isuofia/Ekwulobia General hospital road) to get to Ekwulobia in peace. The abandonment of the Ekwulobia section of the road almost tored Ekwulobia into pieces. I learnt that one of our brothers who is an APGA stakeholder is now bankrolling this section, to avoid it being used against the Isuofia man who is not the Saint. How are we this so cheap? Our people keep on delving into the areas that portray us as worthless people. God forbid. Going by the developmental indices, what has the Isuofia man brought to his Isuofia, Ekwulobia or any other town in Anambra? The Awka CBN branch which is the apex bank’s policy to have branch in each state capital? None. Who has he empowered or employed from Isuofia, Ekwulobia or even in entire Anambra state? You’ll say his in-law Hon Emeka Ezenwanne. Compare his reign as CBN boss to that of Sanusi/ Emefiele. We know how the two appropriated/ is appropriating favour to the benefit of their people.

Chaiii !!!, We got Isuanioma autonomous community as our own favour from the apex bank. This same ‘saint’ openly campaigned and brought the nightmare we have at Aso Rock to power. Sincerely, Andy Uba has a WEAK media team. We should open our eyes and reason. God will not forgive us if we fail to use the brains He gave us for our own good.

It is normal for people to belong to different political/ religious clans. Yes it is very very normal even in a family. I will kindly advise that we major in marketing our own candidate and not trying to ‘be annoyed’ that some other persons or brothers are marketing your opponent. It is even good for our community that we have people in different political affiliations. Yes, we should mind our business to avoid lamentations that usually follow such tactless and propaganda approach I see in ‘us’.

WE SHALL KNOW, SPEAK THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH WILL SET US FREE. This is an elderly advice.
