Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, Appoints Vice-Chancellor and Principal Officers for University of Ilesa

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has appointed Prof Taiwo Asaolu as the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilesa. In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Teslim Igbalaye, letters of appointment were issued to the newly appointed principal officers of the university.

The appointees are Funso Ojo as Registrar, Dr. Mukaila Oyekanmi as Bursar, and Adewale Ogunsipe as Librarian. Prof Asaolu, a former Dean of the Faculty of Administration at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, is a professor of Accounting and Finance.

He was also appointed as the Chairman of the University of Ilesa Review Committee, which was set up by Governor Adeleke to address all outstanding issues for the eventual take-off of the university.

Upon assumption of office, Governor Adeleke dissolved the governing council constituted by former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, headed by Prof. Isaac Adewole, and appointed new members to fill the positions.

The appointment of these principal officers is a significant step in the establishment and commencement of academic activities at the University of Ilesa.
