The Peter Ekwueme Development Foundation (PEDEF) recently announced its plan to organize first of its kind Inter-Local Government football tournament between the seven (7) local governments that make up Anambra South Senatorial District.
The football tournament is designed to grow grassroots talent and connect them to national and global opportunities in line with the founder’s commitment to modern youth empowerment. The football competition will reignite inter-community and local government harmony and foster unity and healthy competition between the 7 LGAs in the District.
Recall that in December 2024, PEDEF organized a Mega Medical Outreach which spanned across Six (6) locations in Anambra South. The outreach which recorded massive turnout offered medical diagnosis and treatments ranging from Blood Sugar Tests, Blood Pressure Tests, HIV Screening, Appendicitis, Hernia Surgeries, Vision Acuity Tests and distribution of free medicated eyeglases.
Barr Peter Ekwueme, the founder of PEDEF is a Debt Recovery Attorney, Real Estate Developer and good governance advocate who has stood firmly on the side of the poor, downtrodden and oppressed for close to a decade. Seven years ago, Ekwueme who hails from Oko in Orumba North LGA, founded the Youth Association, Anambra South Senatorial District (YAASA), a group whose mission is to enthrone transparency and accountability amongst Anambra South political office holders.
Ekwueme recent declaration to run for Senate under the platform of New Nigeria’s People’s Party (NNPP) is driven by his passion for transparency and accountability, in line with his belief that the mal-administration, deceitful and ineffective representation experienced in the Senatorial zone in the past can be overturned through yearly open audited accounting of all the financial and non financial resources belonging to people of the Senatorial District.
The football tournament is one of many programmes lined up by the 42 year old Debt Recovery Attorney to positively affect the lives of constituents of Anambra South.
