Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi, has reassured Nigerians that his commitment to the development of society remains steadfast despite the challenges of the political atmosphere in the nation.
Speaking during an unscheduled visit to Regina Caeli Specialist Hospital in Awka, Obi stated that his vision for progress and development in society is unrelenting, and he would stop at nothing to make it a reality.
Obi, who has consistently advocated for human development through investment in education, health, and poverty alleviation, reiterated that political power is not his ultimate goal but rather a means to achieving a functional society. During his visit to the hospital, he presented a cheque of N2 million to the management as financial support for their healthcare delivery and for indigent patients in dire financial need.
In his response, the Manager of the Hospital, Rev Fr Innocent Affusim, described Obi as a gracious gift to humanity and Nigeria, acknowledging his consistent generosity towards societal progress. He thanked Obi for his benevolence and prayed for God’s continued protection and blessings upon him.
Obi’s commitment to societal development and his demonstration of support for critical sectors such as healthcare has endeared him to many Nigerians. His visit to Regina Caeli Specialist Hospital and financial support for their healthcare delivery is seen as an act of compassion and a demonstration of his genuine concern for the welfare of the people.
