Philanthropic Institutions Are Partners In Community Building, Ekwunife says

Regardless of the economic impasse occasioned by Covid-19 pandemic, there are persons who not because of embarrassment of riches, but for love of humanity have taken it upon themselves to put smiles on the faces of others especially indigent families, widows Et al. Their mission is to touch lives positively and alleviate the suffering of people who are living in dolour.

On Tuesday, December 29, 2020, a business magnate and philanthropist, Sir Emeka Okafor continued from where he stopped last year, touching lives and empowering thousands of people.

Sir Okafor through his foundation, a non- governmental organisation, otherwise known as Emeka Okafor foundation engaged in free medical outreach, scholarships, deworming exercise, empowerment and distribution of various items in the tune of millions to over 2,000 widows, orphans and the less privileged.

The event was held in Nnobi, Idemili South, which falls under the zone the preforming Senator Uche Ekwunife is representing in the upper chamber.

Senator Uche Ekwunife who is a great friend and ally to the founder of the NGO, while speaking to journalists lavished encomium on him.

“He is a good person and what is happening is not a new thing. He started it many years back. He has the spirit of charity. He has the spirit of giving. He has the spirit of God in him.

“He has the spirit of community building in him. He has the spirit of sowing in the lives of so many less privileged. Looking at what he has brought here to give to humanity, you can see that, this man is a gift not just to Nnobi but Anambra, humanity and Nigeria”, she said.

The senator, however, remarked the importance of philanthropic Institutions. According to her, the institutions are partners in community building.

The humanitarian initiative has continued to receive commendation from all and sundry, and the founder has on numerous occasions revealed that his motivation in establishing the foundation is to touch lives positively, assist widows, orphans and the less privileged in the society.

The Igbo-ukwu born Senator, however said that, she’s very proud of the host. “I’m happy to be here to witness this overwhelming grace of God in Nnobi”, Ekwunife stated.

Amongst the dignitaries present was Rt Revd Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) and others.
