Pillar Of Sports Tasks Gov. Uzodimma To Use Sports To Curb Insecurity In Imo State

 

Nigeria Pillar of Sports Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike has tasked the Governor of Imo state Senator Hope Uzodimma to explore sporting activities as a veritable tool to curb the high rate of insecurity in Imo state south- East Nigeria.

Speaking when he played host to the Commissioner for youths and Sports from Imo state Hon. Chike Ogu in Ilorin Saturday,  chief Ejidike said that youths empowerment through sports remains the best way to engage the youths positively.

He added that the office of the Nigeria Pillar of sports has initiated a  campaign tagged ” Engage the youths through Sports” which is aimed at taking the youths off the street via positive engagement through sports.

The Nigeria Pillar of sports said his office is ready to collaborate with the government of Imo state to stage various sporting activities aimed at keeping the youths positively engaged via sports.

Responding,  the Imo state commissioner for youths and sports Hon. Chike Ogu who is in Ilorin for the ongoing National Youths Games thanked the Nigeria Pillar of sports for the gesture extended to him by the visit with assurance that the Imo state government would partner with his office to ensure positive growth and development of sports and youths empowerment.

He said the government of Imo state under governor Hope Uzodimma is ever ready to partner individuals and corporate organization to give the youths a better future and positive engagement.
