Political Leadership Has No Boundaries – Engr Chris Azubogu

By:Tai Emeka Obasi.

In continuation of his local government tour, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu explained that political leadership should have no boundaries.

Responding to a question thrown to him at Aguata, where he addressed all 18 LGA executive committee members, all the the 17 ward executive members of all the 20 wards in the local government as well as stakeholders from all the wards, the man fondly called Mr Project explained that as a political leader, he knows no boundary.

The questioner was inferring to his ability to attract projects to constituencies outside his Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal concern and wondering why other representatives are not emulating him for the betterment of the entire state and Southeast generally.

“I learnt that governance means service to humanity while I worked under HE Peter Obi for four years as a consultant that rid Anambra State of ghost workers and assisted immensely in saving funds for handsome development of the state.

“For my uncle, the great Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu to call me to go to the National Assembly to represent his own constituency, he must have seen enough in me to extend that great honour. A call fully supported by the then governor, our own Okwute.

“Apart from service to humanity, a political leader shouldn’t have boundaries. That’s why Ojukwu used his father’s wealth to fight for the whole Igbo nation, not just for Nnewi or Anambra.

“So, my orientation and interest as a politician made it mandatory for me to attract projects to anywhere outside my constituency because humanity knows no boundaries. As long as it is for good of the people I will push for it, even as far as outside the Southeast.

“In same manner, I’m here to see the party, not just delegates because it is the party that will win the main election, which is what I’m primarily concerned about. When it’s time to see delegates, I will do my bit, even more than you can imagine. But we must support the entire party because we have enormous job in our hands if we truly wish to get back to Agu Awka,” he explained.

Responding to another question regarding why the party usually disintegrated after primaries, he continued, ” I believe in my ability, based on my experience after winning three consecutive elections across parties, to bring all aspirants together for the common cause of PDP if the party chooses me as the candidate. And I will wholeheartedly support any other person that emerges to win this election because I am a party man,” he emphasised.

He said much more while he visited the three local governments of OAU on Wednesday, February 4. He saw all 18 LGA exco of each LGA and all 17-man ward exco of the combined total of 58 wards plus the extra ward in Orumba North. Also all the stakeholders from these wards.

The tour continues today. Keep following because…
