The church’s statement further expressed deep reverence, stating, “We bow in total surrender to Your divine decree, O LORD! With gratitude, we recognize the endowment of an exceptional leader! May his legacy continue to inspire us.”

Born on June 15, 1956, in Kaduna, Colonial Nigeria, Taiwo Odukoya’s early life was rooted in the city where he grew up. His educational journey encompassed Baptist Primary School, Kigo Road, Kaduna, and St. Paul’s College (now Kufena College, Wusasa) in Zaria, before he pursued a degree in petroleum engineering at the University of Ibadan, graduating in 1981.

Following his graduation, Odukoya embarked on a professional journey as a petroleum engineer at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) in April 1982, subsequent to the completion of his National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) commitment. His dedication to this role continued until his voluntary retirement in January 1994, when he heeded a higher calling to serve in ministry.

In 1980, Taiwo Odukoya’s path intersected with Bimbo Williams during their time at the University of Ibadan. Their connection blossomed into a profound relationship that culminated in marriage in 1984. The union was blessed with three children.

Tragedy struck the Odukoya family on December 10, 2005, when Bimbo Odukoya, along with 102 other individuals, perished in the crash of Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145. Bimbo Odukoya’s impactful messages had resonated widely, leaving a lasting impression on many.

Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s legacy as a spiritual leader, mentor, and beacon of hope will undoubtedly be remembered by the countless lives he touched throughout his journey. As the Nigerian community reflects on his profound contributions, his teachings and influence will continue to guide and uplift those who have been touched by his message.
