Re: Ekwunife Lampoons Dr. Godwin Maduka

Our attention has been drawn to a mischievous article being circulated on social media deceptively suggesting that Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) made comments on the source of wealth of a fellow PDP Governorship Aspirant, Dr Godwin Maduka.

Ordinarily such false article which is obviously the handiwork of individuals who are jittery over Senator Ekwunife’s growing personality and acceptance by party faithfuls ahead of the 2021 Governorship election would not have earned our attention, however for the sake of posterity, It is important to address the lies projected in the dubious article.

First, Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife never attended any meeting in Geogold Hotel Awka recently as suggested in the faceless article. She had never in any occasion made any denigrating comment against any Governorship Aspirant, including Dr Godwin Maduka (Okosisi Orumba).

Senator Ekwunife holds Dr Maduka in high esteem and is appreciative of his contributions to the State and in particular his good wishes on her Birthday. She considers Okosisi Orumba as a brother, a friend and a philanthropist of high repute. The false story is the fabrication of neophytes who believe that they can have their way through blackmail and lies. Anambra Politics has gone beyond propaganda. It is focused on what a candidate has to offer the people. Senator Ekwunife will remain the choice of the people any time any day because she has continued to endear herself to the people through the delivery of people-oriented projects and programmes.

The spate of propaganda against Senator Ekwunife, some of which we have had cause to address in the past is only a sign that in her is a contender whom many of her opponents have seen that her growing influence and acceptance by the generality of Ndi Anambra will unsettle their own ambition, however they should understand that elections are won on the basis of performance, positive track records and ability to deliver excellent service to the people, and not through creating imaginary and illusive stories on social media.

While I advise readers to query most content seen online particularly in this era of fake news before believing them to be true, WHAT IS TRUE is that in the past few weeks Senator Ekwunife and her team have been busy with flagging off, inspecting and commissioning of projects in almost every community in Anambra Central in an unprecedented manner, unseen and unheard of in the history of Anambra State. This includes, Roads Construction, Erosion Control, Market Stalls, School Building Blocks, Borehole, Streets Lights and many other projects.

In the same vain, Senator Ekwunife has taken her human capital developmental efforts to a level beyond the reach of Detractors. Her recent organization of capacity building programmes for the Traditional Rulers, Presidents General, Clergy, Women and Youths in Anambra Central Senatorial District is a testimony to this fact.

Ekwunife’s desire to contest in the upcoming Governorship election is based on her capacity, capability and experience in governance, and her full understanding of Anambra State and her people. She has established track records of performance that leaves no one in doubt of her genuineness and ability to address the developmental needs of Ndi Anambra.

Falsehood peddlers are advised to seek other means of relevance and attention as Senator Ekwunife remains committed to actualizing her ambition through democratic means, anchored on the will of the people.
