Renowned Lawyer, Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor Honoured as Outstanding Human Rights Advocate at NACCSO National Summit [VIDEO, PHOTOS]

Abuja, Nigeria – Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a renowned legal practitioner and human rights advocate, was honoured with an outstanding HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE OF NIGERIA award at the National Summit organised by the NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS (NACCSO) on the 27th of April, 2023.

The Summit, which had all major stakeholders in attendance, was held at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission, Abuja, to address issues such as cybercrime, violent extremism, piracy, illegal immigration, drug abuse, fake drugs, trafficking, and human rights violation in Nigeria.

During the Summit, Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor delivered a thought-provoking paper on “THE IMPLICATIONS OF HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS IN NIGERIA,” highlighting the need to reduce human rights violations in the country and ensuring victims are given justice. He was humbled by the audience’s show of love, particularly the downtrodden who participated in the programme and the organisers of the Summit.

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor dedicated the award to all the victims of human rights violations in Nigeria, especially his indefatigable client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is being kept in the solitary confinement of the DSS despite a court order for his release over six months ago, his three domestic staff, and himself – as a victim too. Three of his domestic staff were abducted from his country home in Oraifite on the 6th of June, 2021, by the combined team of the Nigeria Security Agents and are still being detained in solitary confinement at the lawless DSS detention facility headquarters in Abuja without access to their lawyers and family members.

Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor expressed gratitude to the Almighty God and all his supporters for this recognition. He also called on Ezigbo UmuChineke to join him in appreciating the Almighty God for this achievement.

The award is another feather in the cap of Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who has been at the forefront of fighting for the rights of the oppressed in Nigeria. His dedication to ensuring justice for victims of human rights violations has earned him accolades from different quarters, making him one of the most respected legal practitioners and human rights advocates in the country.
