Shina Peller, a member of the House of Representatives from Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency in Oyo State, has called on President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to increase the budgetary allocation to Nigeria’s creative industry.
Peller made the call in a video shared on his social media handles while moving a motion on the floor of the House for the urgent need to strengthen the country’s creative industry.
He pointed out that the industry contributes significantly to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and offers legitimate employment to youths.
Peller added that increasing the budgetary allocation of the Ministry of Information and Culture in the 2024 Appropriation Act will ensure optimal performance in the industry.
