Rivers State APC Dismisses Earlier Statement, Denies Faulting Nyesom Wike’s Ministerial Nomination

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has refuted an earlier statement that criticized the ministerial nomination of the state’s immediate past governor, Chief Nyesom Wike. Darlington Nwauju, the party’s spokesperson in the state, clarified in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday that he had no knowledge of the statement made in Abuja. He asserted that the earlier statement did not come from him and was not signed by him.

Nwauju explained that certain individuals prepared the statement for personal reasons without his involvement, and he emphasized that he has no personal issues with Wike’s ministerial nomination and screening. He also stressed that the matter concerning Rivers State APC and Wike’s nomination is neither personal nor a do-or-die affair, expressing his disapproval of any attempts to impersonate his office for personal vendettas.
