THE SOUTHERN PEOPLE CONGRESS KICK AGAINST THE SIT AT HOME ORDER
“THE SIT-AT-HOME ORDER BY IPOB IS CRIPPLING THE ECONOMIC ACTIVITIES IN ANAMBRA STATE”
The Governor Obiano ordered and gave directives that all businesses in Anambra State must be opened, banks, supermarkets, filling stations, and other activities shut down in Awka and environs on Monday.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has directed people in the zone to sit at home in solidarity with it’s arrested leader, Nnamdi KANU.
The group had also rescinded the order but its members refused to return to works on Monday.
Disturbed by the huge economic loss as a result of the order, the Governor after meeting with some stakeholders in the state directed that all banks, supermarkets and other business activities should go out with their normal businesses.
In his contributions Mr. Enobong Oton , a member of SPC noticed that the sit at home order is anti-people, anti-development and will destroy the economy of the state, he also said, it is an option that makes sense only to those who have little or no economic stakes in the state, “only enemies places embargo on economic activities, not friends.”
Another chieftain of SPC, Mr. Solomon Oba, the director of finance, wondered how the eastern region finds themselves in this quagmire.
However the President of SPC, Hon. George Wilson has appealed to the IPOB leaders and stakeholders to rescind the sit-at-home order so that business activities can return back to the state and other parts of the eastern region.
No doubts, the state and the eastern region would have recorded tremendous and huge lost of revenues that cannot be redeemable, the Governor has spoken well in this regards and we are in support of him.
Signed:
Hon. George Wilson
President.
SOUTHERN PEOPLE CONGRESS.
