Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo says Anambra West is the only Local government in Nigeria whose headquarters is not accessible.
Governor Soludo was speaking while performing the flag-off ceremony of Mmiata Anam- Nzam road where he revealed that the road will be completed by January next year.
Speaking shortly before handing over the site certificate to the contractor, Governor Soludo revealed that the money for the road project is ready, fifty percent of which will be paid before commencement of the work.
While stating that his administration is very particular about funding projects that will have greater impact on the people, the Governor added that if as phase three of the project Kogi State agree to go into an agreement with the Anambra State, the Onono road will be done, to make going to Abuja a three hours journey opening Anambra West to become a gateway to the North.
Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma, his Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs counterpart, Mr. Tony-Collins Nwabunwanne, Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe, among others were present at the occasion.
