It was a glorious homecoming for the YPP candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone in the forthcoming general elections, High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi (Agunaechemba na Abagana) as he took his campaign train to various Communities in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State in continuation of his tours around Anambra Central.
The joy and excitement from the mammoth crowd who turned out en masse to receive their illustrious son were easily visible as they expressed it through a rousing reception they accorded to Dr Umeadi on his arrival in those towns visited. You may recall that High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi is the son of the soil.
Dr Chinedu Umeadi’s first port of call was the palace of Igwe Abagana, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Sir Patrick Mbamalu Okeke, and later to the palace of Igwe Enugwu Ukwu na Umunri, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Sir Raph Obumneme Ekpeh, then to Igwe Enugwu Agidi, His Royal Majesty, Igwe Chiagozie Michael Okeke Uche, and lastly to Onowu Nawfia. Dr Umeadi was also warmly welcomed at the country home of the President General of Enugwu Agidi Development Union, Hon. Chukwuebuka Onuorah (Ozo Ijele Umunri), where he met and interacted with some stakeholders and youths of the Enugwu Agidi Community, before proceeding to his campaign tours for the day.
In his speech, Dr Umeadi expressed delight over the warm receptions accorded him and his entourage. In his words, “I can not thank you enough, my good people of Njikoka, for this deep show of love and solidarity, as this has given me the confidence and assurances that my candidacy is generally accepted by my Community, Abagana and the entire Njikoka, my Local Government”. He went further to explain, in detail, his development plans as well as his agenda on how to address the pressing issues facing Anambra Central Senatorial District as contained in his 11-point New Direction Agenda.
Earlier in his welcome address, Ozo Ijele Umunri, Hon. Ebuka Onuorah, President General, Enugwu Agidi Development Union, (EDU), expressed his unalloyed support for the candidate of High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi, the Abagana-born, Canada-based medical practitioner, whom he described as “an erudite scholar, a distinctive medical expert and an enterprising, young man with the heart of gold and face of God that has excess capacity to deliver according to the expectations of Ndi Anambra Central when elected, and that’s why am with you, Enugwu Agidi nile and my structure, are all with you”.
The gathering was attended by key stakeholders, party faithful and various support groups from the Communities visited. They expressed their unflinching resolve to prove their support for the candidacy of Dr Umeadi at the polls by voting massively for the Young Progressives Party, YPP, on the February 25th, 2023 general elections.
High Chief Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi was accompanied on the visits by the Director General of Dr Chinedu Umeadi Campaign Organization, Ichie Hon. Peter Ozumba, Peerock, Anambra Central Zonal Woman Leader of YPP, Hon. Mrs Christiana Enukora and other members of his campaign team.
