Nigerian Senator and prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, Ned Nwoko, has refuted the circulating claims of marital turmoil between Marjorie Harvey and her husband, well-known American TV host Steve Harvey.
Reports had flooded social media alleging that Marjorie was involved in an extramarital affair with Steve’s security personnel and subsequently filed for divorce, purportedly seeking a $400 million settlement.
In a swift response to the news, Ned Nwoko used his official Instagram account to address the situation, categorizing the reports as “fake news” and asserting that Marjorie and Steve Harvey continue to enjoy a harmonious marriage.
In his Instagram post on Saturday, Senator Nwoko lamented the proliferation of false information in the modern world and noted that this unfortunate trend is witnessed regularly. Consequently, upon learning about the alleged marital discord affecting Steve Harvey and his wife, the senator reached out to the couple for clarification.
The post from Senator Nwoko read: “Fake news has been taken to new heights all over the world and this is so unfortunate. We experience this practically every day and so when we read about our friend Steve Harvey and his lovely wife having issues, we had to contact him and he confirmed that he and his wife are very much okay and it’s all fake news and should be disregarded.”
Highlighting that the Harvey family remains content and unified, Senator Nwoko extended his well-wishes, stating, “The family is happy together and we wish them all the best.”
