Officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service have been charged to shun corrupt practices in the discharge of their duties.
The Zone G Zonal coordinator, Mr Domnic Asogwa gave the advice during the decoration ceremony of newly promoted officers of Anambra State Command of the service.
In his address to the officers, Mr Asogwa congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to be dutiful and not take the new opportunity for granted.
He advised them to treat visitors with respect, to avoid corrupt practices, and to be disciplined in carrying out their duties.
He further advised those who were not promoted not to be downcast and to instead wait for their appointed time.
Mrs Ngozi Odikpo, Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service Anambra State Command, welcomed the forty-three newly promoted officers, urging them to uphold the service’s ethics and not relent in their individual and collective efforts to secure Nigeria’s borders.
Filled with joy, some of the newly promoted officers, including Assistant Controller Ephraim Agbo and Assistant Superintendent Jeremiah Megwalu, thanked God and their leaders for allowing them to achieve a new feat, stating that they would carry out their responsibilities effectively.
