AIF Media reliably gathered that the governorship project of the former CBN governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo is beginning to collapse as it’s major backer, Chief Innocent Chukwuma, the CEO of Innoson Group, makers of IVM vehicle has just pulled out of the project.
Innoson was believed to be the major backer and one of the sponsors of the Soludo 2021 project. Innoson was expected to lead the financial drive and use his contacts to raise enough funds for the CBN governor.
But in a shocking move, Innoson announced his unwillingness to continue with the Soludo project. He rather told some APGA leaders that he would rather project Hon Nonso Smart who is presently at the State House of Assembly.
According to the source who spoke to AIF Media on the condition of anonymity, Innoson told a small audience that Hon Nonso Smart is young and very loyal and should be supported for the governorship ticket of APGA.
He said he will prefer to sponsor Hon Smart to Soludo.
Meanwhile, another source told AIF Media that Chief Senator Victor Umeh, Ohamadike was drafted to meet with Innoson and convince him to change his mind. But all attempts to convince the IVM vehicle maker has been rebuffed.
Those within Nnewi and Enugu will witness that Chief Umeh has been frequenting Innoson’s house lately to appease him to return to Soludo ticket, but his visits have not yielded any positive result. Rather Innoson is already mobilising support for Hon Nonso Smart’s 2021 governorship project.
