Addressing recent online speculations about a ban on prayers in markets, Sir Paul Nwosu, Anambra State Commissioner for Information, clarified that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, has not prohibited traders from gathering for prayers in markets. Nwosu emphasized that the Governor himself begins each day with prayer and questioned how he could ban such practices.

Nwosu further explained that Governor Soludo’s statement had been misconstrued. The Governor’s intention was for traders to consider the timing and nature of their morning devotions, given that customers often travel from distant locations to shop. The Commissioner highlighted the importance of customer satisfaction and encouraged traders to initiate their business weeks with Monday prayers, believing that blessings from prayer would positively impact their endeavors.
