Southern People Congress (Spc) Salutes Nigerians At 61st Independence With Sober Reflection

PRESS RELEASE:

THE SOUTHERN PEOPLE CONGRESS (SPC) SALUTES NIGERIANS AT 61ST INDEPENDENCE WITH SOBER REFLECTION!

“NIGERIA, A DEVELOPING NATION AND THE LARGEST BLACK NATION IN AFRICA, CELEBRATES HER 61ST INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY WITH LOTS OF HOPES OF CHAUVINISM AS THE COUNTRY IS NOW ON THE IGNOBLE BRINK OF A PRECIPICE AND WE ALL KNOW THE LEVEL OF INSECURITY, INJUSTICE, PREJUDICE, NEPOTISM, OFFICIAL FALSEHOOD AND CORRUPTION GOING ON OVERTIME AND HAS REACHED A CRESCENDO UNDER THIS ADMINISTRATION”

As Nigeria celebrate her 61st anniversary independence of nationhood, it is glaring skewed to say we are not where we expected to be in terms of our accomplishments in the economic, scientific and technological sectors.

We have been far behind in multiple fronts, due to our demagogue and lack of kleptomaniac, that will start up the process of attempting to play catch up of the front runners.

Instead there is fixation by our demagogue elites on crude accumulation of wealth and political powers which benefits only a few, not the masses!

In doing this, we are not doing enough to structure the Nigerian State to serve the interest of all Nigerians, Health and Educational facilities articulately are poor while our judiciary that supposed to be egalitarian is a despondent. Yet modern Nigerian is steadily becoming more complex and interconnected in a way that it is precipice, would have grave consequences not just in the African continent in general but West Africa in particular.

As our nation stands at the cross road in search for a visionary, patriotic and expeditiously leader to lead her out of the present economic and political Egypt, extremists from the religious, ethnic and political nauseating are intensely competing on how to extract slices of the country to form their tribal or religious fiefdom.

Nigerians needs a kleptomaniac, builders and statesmen to help it steady its ship of seal and navigate the current troubled waters to a safe harbour before the unthinkable happens.

Utterances such as those attributed to leading northern intellectuals asserting a determination to continue an hegemonic hold on the nation are not helping matters.

But also commendable is the Southern Governors push back through resolutions and the recent enactment of legislations outlawed open grazing and pastoral farming with their states.

The Governors should go further by sourcing for funds to establish ranches in their various states for their own citizens as no ethic group should be allowed to have a monopoly over the meat value chain.

Also worthy of mention is the ongoing legal battle over which level of government should collect certain taxes in the polity, the outcome of the landmark court cases will significantly reshape our Federal structure and true Federalism.

Finally, the apparent shift towards renewable energy and imminent move towards electric car engines will have a serious economic consequences for oil producing states and host communities. Therefore, here is a clarion call on states to grow and flourish beyond crude oil money.

This is an appeal to the separatist in the North and Southern states to channel their energy into the economic development of their states, rather than the present practice through violent attacks on security and government offices.

A word of encouragement goes to the security agencies for the efforts to maintain peace and tranquility, they should as a matter of urgencies put to an end the war against the insurgency, banditry, boko haram, forceful land grabbing and insecurity challenges in the country. It is very unprecedented and shameful that at a time when other nations are creatively thinking ahead of how to take advantage of their environments, we are despondently battling with the basic of trying to crawl.

We strongly belief in the use of state and local government vigilante groups to be fully funded by the states governments that would help provide drones, drone bases helicopters and other modern security gadgets that will help enhance security within the states and its local government areas, also we appeal to the Federal Government to engaged the United Nations or some foreign nations to assist in flushing out bandits and kidnappers out of the country ones and for all.

We strongly condemn the Fulanisation of Nigeria, and the forcefully seizure of people’s ancestral lands for the marauding foreign Fulani imported on daily bases into our country.

Appointment should reflect true Federalism as constitutionally enshrined, these sectional appointments and distribution of amenities favouring one group is a heterogeneous society had escalated self determination agitation in the nation which makes it looks rudderless.

Conclusion: This years Independence day calls for soberness, as it is a worrisome and shameful and calls for potency that a Nation at 61st do not have a workable true fiscal Federalism, a Nation with Natural resources (Crude, coal, gold, iron etc) do not have a refinery (ies), a Nation at 61st do not have a National carrier, a Nations at 61st do not have an established manufacturing plants, a Nation at 61st where its citizens lives below poverty line, no standard hospital and basic amenities, yet our demagogue elites with no integrity with tribal and religious chauvinism enjoys the nauseating status quo to continue to lord on us!

The time is now for us to think positively and begin to practice government for the people by the people for the people so help us God!

Signed:
Hon. George Wilson.
President.
