As the year 2020 gradually takes its last lap, it is imperative that we give thanks to God for what has got to be a most unusual year that has literally tasked everything within us and at times, made us question everything we believe in.

It is the year that saw Humanity grasping for breath as the Covid-19 pandemic threatened to undo our normal way of life with lockdowns effected around the nations of the world and it’s attendant negative effect on businesses and economies but through it all, God saw us through and today, we live with our heads held up high to tell the story.
To be clear, the pandemic also brought out the best of humanity as governments, individuals, business concerns and communities banded together to ensure the sufferings of the downtrodden were mitigated in the numerous palliative efforts that saw them receiving free food items and cash gifts.
In Anambra North, we stepped up our game by ensuring the downtrodden were accommodated in our massive palliative efforts and for weeks on end, our team, through the various churches, donated food items to widows, men and various groups to assist them in cushioning the debilitating effects of the pandemic.
We also stepped up our game in human capital development by the numerous capacity building programs instituted to ensure a large spectrum of constituents, especially women and youths were imparted with skills that would take them off the poverty line and we shall continue to provide such platforms for we hold on to the belief that an empowered individual who assiduously takes the small pain of imbibing and practicalizing everything taught, has no business looking for a paid job for he can monitize those skills to attain financial independence.
The year also came with flood that displaced several communities which prompted my call on the floor of the Senate for the kind of urgent intervention that would signal a permanent solution.
Today is the first day of December and as usual, we must take out time to give praise to God for never leaving nor forsaking us inspite of the gloom whilst praying that the coming year would usher in a fresh wave of prosperity for everyone in our dear senatorial district.
On this note, I welcome you to this new month and may the pleadings of your hearts come to fruition in Jesus mighty name.
Signed.
Senator Princess Stella Adaeze Oduah OON.
Vice Chairman,
Senate Committee On Appropriation.
