The police in Katsina state have arrested a 30-year-old man, Abubakar Abdulaziz, for allegedly kidnapping and murdering a three-year-old child. According to the Katsina police command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Gambo Isah, Abdulaziz trespassed into the residence of Adamu Alhassan, in Bacirawa village, Musawa Local Government Area, Katsina State, while he was asleep and kidnapped his son.
The kidnapper then left a letter directing the father to pay a ransom of N800,000 and providing a contact phone number. After negotiation, Alhassan paid N150,000, but the kidnapper failed to release the child.
Subsequently, the police began an investigation and arrested Abdulaziz. During the investigation, Abdulaziz confessed to kidnapping the child and murdering him, burying the boy alive after receiving the ransom money.
The investigation is ongoing. This tragic incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about the security of residents in the area.
