Tiktoker Sentenced to Three Years in Prison for Cyberstalking Nollywood Actress Eniola Badmus

A Tiktoker, Nwakaego Okoye, has been convicted and sentenced to three years imprisonment by a Federal High Court in Lagos for her involvement in cyberstalking popular Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus. The court also offered an option of paying a fine of N150,000 instead of serving the prison term. Okoye had pleaded guilty to the charges against her.

According to the police prosecutor, the cyberstalking incident occurred between December 2022 and July 2023, contravening Sections 27 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act 2015.

During the court proceedings, the counsel to the convict requested mercy, highlighting that Okoye was a first-time offender and did not delay the legal process. However, Justice Nicholas Oweibo ultimately sentenced her to three years in prison or the alternative fine.
