Southern Governors have gotten the support of national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu and other chieftains of South-West chapter of the party like Olusegun Osoba and Bisi Akande, who met in Lagos on Sunday May 23.
It was gathered that the six governors in the region were present at the meeting. The political leaders who discussed the issue of insecurity facing the Southwest and Nigeria as a whole, said they were not in support of the ethnic group’s break away from Nigeria.
The political leaders supported the ban on open grazing by Southern Governors, but expressed their “strong opposition to separatist agitations and hate speeches. While urging those indulging in such to desist forthwith, they renewed their belief in the unity, stability and sustainability of the country.”
