As Prof. Soludo has chosen a low-key inauguration, Gov. Obiano this Wednesday, March 9th, will be commissioning the International Conference Centre (ICC) in grand-style with the Ukwu Sala mbala crooner, Flavour Onye Olima performing live.
While we must continue to pray for Soludo in his commitment to disrupt the current political system of the state and move the state away from Obiano’s style of governance, we must continue to remind him of his words, IF NOT BROKEN WHY MEND IT – a statement that ensured that Obiano served another four years, further plunging the state into the mess that he, Soludo is today seeking to clear.
Will Soludo attend the commissioning of the ICC. Will he join the incumbent in what should be termed a waste of resources going by Soludo’s principles, standards and recent statements?
While Soludo has no hand in the organization of the March 9th event, his presence or absence in the occasion will have great significance. His presence to me, will seem that he is not yet ready for the battle ahead. The battle of changing the political story of the state – a battle that will require him to stand by his principles against all odds.
His absence, however, will mean that we have truly elected a governor who is ready to disrupt the system; Ready to face the difficult task before him and possibly upturn the fortunes of the state.
Whatever the case may be, my prayers are with Soludo, while my good wishes are with Obiano as he serves out his tenure.
May Anambra succeed.
