US lawmaker, Liz Cheney Loses Party Primary

US lawmaker, Liz Cheney, who has emerged as former President Donald Trump’s fiercest Republican critic, has lost the party’s nomination to return to the congress.

Cheney lost to Trump-backed candidate, Harriet Hageman, in Wyoming during the primaries which held on Tuesday.

“Congratulations to Harriet Hageman on her great and very decisive WIN in Wyoming. This is a wonderful result for America, and a complete rebuke of the Unselect Committee of political Hacks and Thugs,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.

Addressing Cheney and thanking Wyoming, Trump said, “Liz Cheney should be ashamed of herself, the way she acted, and her spiteful, sanctimonious words and actions towards others. Now she can finally disappear into the depths of political oblivion where, I am sure, she will be happier than she is right now. Thank you WYOMING!”

Meanwhile, according to AFP, Liz Cheney, vowed to do everything in her power to prevent Trump from returning to the White House.

She said, “I have said since January 6 that I will do whatever it takes to ensure Donald Trump is never again anywhere near the Oval Office, and I mean it.”
