Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc has announced the appointment of Valentine Chinedu Okelu as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company. A press release from the firm stated that Pharmacist Okelu, hailing from Nnokwa in Anambra State, officially assumed his role on August 16, 2023, following the endorsement of his appointment at the company’s Annual General Meeting.

Valentine Chinedu Okelu’s academic journey includes graduating with distinction in Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He further pursued a Master of Pharmacy degree from the same institution. His dedication to learning led him to the prestigious Lagos Business School, where he completed both the Advanced Programme and the Strategic Marketing Management Programme. His commitment to continuous development took him abroad to attend executive programs in marketing, strategy, and management at institutions such as the London Business School and the University of London.

The statement highlighted Okelu’s involvement in various professional organizations, emphasizing his affiliation with the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, the National Association of Industrial Pharmacists of Nigeria, the International Pharmaceutical Federation, the Commonwealth Pharmacists Association, the Strategic & Competitive Intelligence Professionals (USA), and the Lagos Business School Alumni Association.

Valentine Chinedu Okelu’s professional journey began as a medical sales representative at Rhone Poulenc Rorer/May & Baker Plc. His career flourished as he progressed to roles like market development executive and market development manager within the same organization. His expertise expanded further into the role of Product Manager- Cardiovascular in Aventis/May & Baker Plc.

With a series of notable positions, Okelu’s trajectory continued to ascend. He served as the Head of Demand Creation (Pharma) at May & Baker Nigeria Plc, ultimately advancing to Assistant General Manager/Head of Corporate Planning & Development in 2008. Subsequently, he became the General Manager/Head of Pharma Sales & Marketing in 2009.
