Varsity Secures N12.5m TETFund Research Grant

Kwara State University, Ilorin, has been awarded a N12.5 million naira research grant by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). The grant was awarded under the 2021 National Research Fund intervention and will be used to conduct research on the “Influence of Cultural and Demographic Attributes on the Spread and Containment of Coronavirus Pandemic in Nigeria.”

The research team will be led by Dr. Olayinka Yusuf, and the grant was announced in a letter signed by TETFund’s Executive Secretary, Mr. Sonny Echono. The university’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, expressed his delight at the grant, emphasizing the importance of research in advancing the nation’s development.

This research grant serves as a testament to the university’s commitment to promoting research and innovation in the country. With this grant, the research team will be able to conduct in-depth research on the cultural and demographic attributes that influence the spread and containment of the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.
