Vice Chancellor Urges Overhaul of IPPIS Policy as Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo Holds 3rd Matriculation Ceremony

The National Universities Commission, NUC, recently approved the commencement of Bachelor of Nursing Science, B.N.Sc., Bachelor of Pharmacy, B.Pharm., and Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, BMLS, courses at the Federal University of Health Sciences Otukpo, FUHSO.

Prof. Innocent Ujah, the Vice Chancellor, shared this news during the 3rd Matriculation ceremony at the Otukpo GRA Campus. He also mentioned that the B.Sc. BioInformatics approval is in progress.

However, Prof. Ujah expressed concern about the implementation of the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS) policy, which has caused delays in salary payments to some lecturers. He called for its overhaul.

The Vice Chancellor urged the federal government to address inadequate funding for the institution. Chief Godwin Obla, the Guest Lecturer, advised students to avoid living beyond their means and focus on hard work to achieve success in life.

The ceremony witnessed the matriculation of 89 students, and the university also launched its maiden magazine, “Advance.” The event was attended by dignitaries, including the paramount ruler of the Idoma tribe, HRM Agaba’Idu Dr. Elaigwu Odogbo.
