Victor Umeh has become a problem than a solution to APGA – AIF Media

Good morning gentlemen,

I think that Victor Umeh has become a problem than a solution to APGA.

He has now become a recurring decimal in all APGA Crisis. Since 2002 that APGA was registered till date, all APGA Crises have imprint of Chief Victor Umeh. Those who will come here to attack me joined APGA few years ago and do not have this record.

But I make bold to say that Umeh does not mean well for APGA. It seems his business thrives whenever APGA is in crisis. He has fought every national chairman of APGA. From Chekwas Okorie to Maxi Okwu to Victor Oye and now Jude Okeke.

The crisis bedeviling APGA presently started with the email in which Umeh sent to gov Obiano on May 30, 2019. He sent that email 24 hours to the National convention of the party. Umeh in that email warned gov Obiano not to back Oye’s second term bid and that he should prevail on him to refund those he defrauded during the APGA primaries in 2018 and bow out.

Here is the concluding part of the email Umeh sent to Gov Obiano on May 30, 2019.

“I advise that you (gov Obiano) confront Chief Oye with these Revelations and consider asking him to Refund these Monies to them and bow out and save APGA from protracted Crisis!”

As Umeh predicated, gov Obiano refused to confront Oye and also failed to compel him to refund and bow out and the protracted crisis began.

Chief Victor Umeh out of anger boycotted the National convention where Oye was wrongly elected at Awka on May 31. Oye was wrongly elected because he violated the conditions stated in the judgement of the Ibadan high court which empowered the party to go ahead with the convention.

Umeh stayed away from anything Oye and refused to recognize him as the National Chairman of APGA even as crisis erupted in the party.

It is so disheartening seeing Umeh moving from one Television house to another buying space in order to defend Oye against Jude Okeke and Edozie Njoku. Umeh as an elder statesman had every opportunity to guide APGA before the June 23 primaries but he chose to publicly endorse Prof Soludo thereby justifying the unjust disqualification of other eligible and highly competent governorship aspirants of the party.

Gov Obiano gave Umeh the best opportunity to bounce back and regain his respect when he made him the Chairman of the Reconciliation Committee with mandate to reach out to the aggrieved members of the party and bring the party together.

Umeh smartly abandoned the committee job and made himself a lawyer who was always on National TV justifying the same convention that he boycotted on May 30, 2019. Watching Umeh on National TV, you will wonder if it was a lawyer speaking for Oye or a Reconciliation Committee chairman speaking for APGA.

How can a Reconciliation Committee chairman go to National TV to deride those he had mandate to reconcile and unite the party?

A reconciliation chairman who has abandoned his work and relocated to Abuja to save Oye because there is more money in saving Oye through the courts and appearances on National TV than going on bended knees to appease the aggrieved, convince them and woo them back to one fold.

Victor Umeh is APGA’s problem.
