Luck has ran out of two heavily armed gunmen today at the Unizik Permanent Site, Miracle Junction, Ifite Awka.
Two out of the three gunmen who were said to have operated with a motorcycle met their Waterloo when they engaged the security personnel in a gun battle in the late hours of the morning, leaving students, commuters and other residents scamper for safety.
It was reported that the gunmen succeeded in killing one of the security operatives before he was captured and set ablaze.
The other was lucky to have fled the scene with their motorcycle, while the third person was whisked away by the security operatives.
Meanwhile, the security personnel are on the hunt for the escapee. And as at the time of this report, it has not been ascertained whether or not he has been captured.
One of the eye witnesses said, “the guy was very stupid to have confronted the security personnel who’s numbers obviously surpassed their. That’s why they had to burn him alive.”
Another said, ” he(the armed) rubber tried resisting being burnt alive as he(the armed robbers) ran from one shop to another, insisting he must not get burnt alone.. but he was overpowered and eventually set ablaze at the middle of the road.
