We Have So Much To Serve People In Terms of Input And Investment To Humanity – Ekwunife

By Linus Chukwuma

Yes, though too much have been chronicled on service to humanity, nonetheless, many of human activities are off the graph. The dazzling reality shows that we have a lot to do, to make the world a better place.

Gladly we have persons who think, not about what to amass, or perhaps piggy banked fortune for their future generations. But sacrifice a lot to serve well in every opportunity given to them. One of such rare class is, at the minute, representing a Senatorial District in Anambra state.

On the penultimate day or so of the previous year, the Senator representing Anambra Central, Uche Ekwunife, though does not look a bit masculine but took the form of the biblical John the Baptist, preaching the essence of service to humanity. The only difference between the duo was location: Ekwunife was proselytizing at Awka axis While the former preached in the wilderness.

To me, the best new year message anyone could get was lucidly delivered by the Senator. Ekwunife said that, we have much to serve people in terms of input and investment to humanity. And I was to read that, the woman we call Iyom made the call when the National Association of Accountants of Nigeria -Anambra Branch Executive- paid her a courtesy visit in Awka, Anambra state, to congratulate her on the excellent representation.

You might not have heard this, but Ekwunife is a woman you would, maybe because of envy, hate if she is not representing you, and a personality you love in double measure if she does. — that said, Ekwunife gives so much to humanity.

Politics apart, without any spirit of sacrifice, no leader can serve well. What it means: is that we must be ready to discomfort ourselves for the advancement of mankind.

Though, it was Ekwunife who reminded us, couple of days ago, that we are all transient on earth and one day it will be over. Even so, the counsel should always inform the decision of the living. Let’s live a life, that providence will be proud of.

Ekwunife’s foray into the murky waters of Nigerian politics cannot be adjudged as limitation of supply of representation. I don’t know how she does it, but approach makes her one of the most loved politicians. In retrospect, her scorecards in both the green chamber and brief stint in the senate before the last general elections were unparalleled. Little wonder, the year before last, she was across the 7 LGAs in the zone, roundly voted back into the senate.

There, again, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology has continued, at full throttle, living up to expectations. Aside, being magnificent in legislative processes the Senator has etched her name in the mind of the public.

I remember telling a friend that no investment is worth more than education. HE Peter Obi is one man I admire a great deal because of his investment to humanity via education. Meanwhile, road construction, entrepreneurial development and skills acquisition, important bills and motions, Covid-19 relief materials, special engineering training for young engineers are amongst the achievements of the quintessential Senator, but for my ilks, the benefits of distribution of educational materials, free medical outreach, house building for less privileged families, and more or less 124 employment for job seekers remain ageless. This is, not to mention the over 300 persons that have benefited from the same gesture in the past years.

When I think of the families that benefited in the investments, I prefer to think, that Ekwunife has earned herself huge enduring social capital. She is someone who always thinks of how to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

I’m by no means a diviner, but with her feats, more leadership assignments awaits her in the nearest future. I trust, as usual, that she will deliver.
