Why Are Nwodo Dynasty Sponsoring Media Attacks On Gov Ugwuanyi?

I have read many commentaries on the just concluded primary election especially as it concerns the 2023 governorship election in Enugu state. It is sad how the Nwodo Dynasty joined the anti zoning elements in the state in sponsoring media attacks trying to ridicule the effort of gov Ugwuanyi who ensured that the zoning understanding which brought him into power in 2015 is maintained.

I was shocked that some ungrateful elements from Nsukka are behind these attacks on gov Ugwuanyi expressing anger over the failure of an Isi-Uzo man to emerge the candidate of PDP for 2023 governorship election.

I do not know what these elements from Nsukka zone who are sponsoring these attacks and championing the Isi-Uzo agenda want. It is a known fact that Isi-Uzo has a cultural affiliation with Nsukka zone. If you ask an average Isi-Uzo man where he hails from, he will quickly tell you he is from Nsukka. You will only get to know he is from Isi-Uzo if you go further to ask him where in Nsukka he comes from.

It is also a well known fact that gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is from Udenu LGA and that Udenu was carved out of Isi-Uzo LGA in 1991. Both were one LGA area under Nsukka senatorial zone before the creation of Enugu state in 1991. It is a moral burden on Ugwuanyi to have supported Isi-Uzo to succeed him in 2023. It would have been a moral sin for Gov Ugwuanyi to support Hon Chijioke Edeoga, his first cousin from Isi-Uzo to become the standard flag bearer of the PDP for 2023 Enugu state governorship election. I am certain that his emergency would have been rejected by majority of ndi Enugu. It would have been alleged that Ugwuanyi wants to turn the state into a family inheritance.

Those who wanted Hon Edeoga were purely doing so to sustain their political dynasty in Nsukka. I learnt that Edeoga married from their family in Ukehe, reason they were bent on imposing him on ndi Enugu. They wanted to use Edeoga to sustain their hold onto power and continue to determine the political direction in the area.

How would it sound that an Isi-Uzo man is the governor of Enugu state and his deputy will also come from Nsukka zone? Do those who are pushing this narrative understand the implication of such pairing? How will other senatorial zones view such unpopular agenda that Old Nsukka zone produced both the governor and his deputy?

Gov Ugwuanyi should rather be commended for being proactive in handling what would have generated a serious political crisis in the state. Majority of ndi Nsukka are happy with the infrastructural development the governor brought to the zone in the last 7 years. Apart from many road projects constructed and some ongoing in the area, Nsukka now has a fully accredited state owned medical university, it also has a state secretariat annex.

Ugwuanyi is jokingly called Nsukka governor, because he has carried out quite number of legacy projects in the zone. Those sponsoring media attacks on him are only selfish. They do not mean well for the people of Nsukka.

Hon Chijioke Edeoga was a Commissioner for 7 years under gov Ugwuanyi. He should be grateful and stop being pushed to fight a man who gave him this opportunity and made him who he is politically.
