Anambra State Government in collaboration with The Challenge Initiative, TCI have distributed contraceptives and other items to over forty women of child bearing age at Ola Ekwuluobia Health Center, Aguata Local Government Area to promote family planning.
This was to commemorate World Contraception Day celebrated on Sunday this week.
Addressing the women, the Family Planning Coordinator Anambra State Ministry of Health Mrs Chioma Okedo. represented by the State Reproductive Health Coordinator, Mrs Udodilim Muojekwu said that the essence of the Day was to creat awareness on the importance of family planning and called on women of child bearing age to visit health care centers in the state to access family planning services of the state government free of cost.
Mrs Muojekwu noted that family planning is essential as it will help reduce child mortality and mobidity and enhance child spacing.
Also speaking , the State Coordinator, The Challenge Initiative, TCI Anambra State, Aneotah Egbe said the visit was to mark World Contraception day celebrated on Sunday among women of reproductive age to create access to family planning services globally and commended the state government for its efforts in ensuring effective and efficient healthcare delivery across the state.
