53 Police Officers’ Widows Receive Food Items Donation From Anambra State POWA

The Chairperson of Anambra Police Officers Wives Association, POWA, Mrs. Ikemi Echeng has distributed food items to 53 police officers’ widows and their children.

While distributing the food items at the Anambra State Police Command, the chairperson who is also the wife of the Anambra State Police Commissioner disclosed that over 100 widows who lost their husbands while on active service will benefit from the gesture.

The items distributed include: tin tomatoes, confectioneries, noodles, sugar, yoghurts, detergents, bags of rice, toiletries, salts, biscuits, beans, drinks, and sewing machines.

According to Mrs. Echeng, POWA is donating the food items to the wives and children of the deceased police officers who laid their lives to ensure a secured society.

She reiterated that the widows and orphans in their midst are part of them and they will continue to remain one of them.

Mrs. Echeng thanked the women for allowing their husbands give their all to the society and stated that it is their responsibility to assist them by making sure they are comfortable as their plight would continue to remain their priority.

Appreciating the executive of the association, Mrs. Pauline Ajibo who prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon the benefactors, revealed that the foodstuff will alleviate the burden they have been shouldering as a result of the loss of the breadwinners of their families.

A members of Police Wives Association, Mrs Blessing Emmanuel who received sewing machine and food stuff in tears wished that her husband is alive and said that the intervention will reduce her sufferings.
