Today the party had a primary election for a by-election of Imo north senatorial zone to replace late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.
The by-election has been slated by INEC to hold on October 31. But the feud between the camp of Gov Hope Uzodimma and that of Rochas Okorocha has produced two candidates.
While the camp of Hope Uzodimma declared one Frank Ibezim winner, Chief Dan Nwafor led faction of APC loyal to ex governor Okorocha declared Ifeanyi Ararume winner.
Frank Ibezim is a loyalist of Hon EMEKA Nwajiuba, minister of state for Education. It is believed that Dauglas House needs the Abuja contact of Nwajiuba to overcome the political challenges within APC.
As the primary election produced two candidates, the battle moves to APC secretariat Abuja where decision on which name to be sent to INEC will be decided.
