On Tuesday 24th November 2020, some stakeholders in Achalla community gathered to receive the Anambra Central Senatorial District Liaison Office Project monitoring team over a road project facilitated by Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom).
The team led by the former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata were received by the President General of Achalla, Engr Boniface Chigbo, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Awka North, Chief John Ekweozor, Awka North PDP Woman Leader, Mrs Odibendi Onuorah and other stakeholders in the community.
Welcoming the delegation, Engr Boniface Chigbo while expressing joy over the project, noted that Senator Ekwunife who is popularly reffered to as MADAM PROJECT, has through the facilitation of the road project achieved what the past representatives of the community could not achieve.
Engr Chigbo stated that Achalla people are appreciative of the Senator’s efforts towards addressing the developmental needs of the community and all other communities under her jurisdiction. He assured that the community will continue to support the Senator in all her political pursuit and prayed God to grant her the enablement to do more for her constituents.
On his part, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Awka North, Chief John Ekweozor while commending the Senator for the laudable project stated that the people of Awka North are thrilled by her representation. He equally noted that the project is a first of its kind attracted by any lawmaker who has represented the community. He assured the Senator of the maximum support of the party in the Local Government.
In her reaction, the leader of the project monitoring team, Lady Henrietta Agbata appreciated the people of the community for their unflinching support for the Senator, particularly in the last election. She informed the gathering that the contractor handling the project has been mobilized and is set to commence work.
Lady Agbata further noted that the Senator is fully committed to offering the constituency a representation that is purposeful, impactful and fruitful. She urged them to continue to remember the Senator in their prayers as she strives to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the Senatorial District and beyond.
