Nollywood actress, Rachael Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, will be hosting the 7th edition of her charity event, “Mega Carnival with Nkoli Nwa Nsukka” in Nsukka, Enugu State on April 23rd. The event, which started in 2015, is aimed at empowering over 5,000 children and families from less privileged backgrounds.
The event has been held annually in Enugu and Anambra States, and Rachael Okonkwo is hoping to take it by storm this year. She has been actively involved in fund raising to meet the needs of the poor people in the South-East.
At the event, children will receive gifts such as stationary and leisure items, while widows will go home with foodstuff and other valuable items. The youths will also receive empowerment tools to enable them showcase their talents and reduce unemployment in society.
Rachael Okonkwo, who is well known for her humanitarian activities, regrets that the carnival suffered major setbacks in 2020 and 2021 following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. However, she is excited that this year’s event will make up for the two years she laid low. The event is expected to be star-studded, with celebrities and other members of society donating to support the cause.
