Buhari Goes on Spiritual Journey to Saudi Arabia to Thank Allah Before Handing Over

President Muhammadu Buhari embarked on a spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia earlier this week, to thank Almighty Allah for his eight years in service of his country before handing over to the President-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu on May 29. The President’s spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, said the journey would be Buhari’s last trip to the Kingdom as President.

While speaking to newsmen, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Pantami and Shehu noted that the President was in the Holy Land to show his gratitude to Allah for his success in leading Nigeria. Buhari and his aides first visited Madinah, where they toured some historic religious places before proceeding to Makkah, where they successfully performed Umrah rituals.

The President also visited the International Fair and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilisation in Madinah, commending the Saudi government for deploying technological tools in presenting the core of Islam. Buhari observed the five daily prayers as well as Taraweeh prayer at the Masjid Nabawi.

The President took the opportunity to visit Alhaji Aminu Dantata, the patriarch of the Dantata family, in his hotel space to condole him over the demise of his wife, Hajiya Rabi Dantata.
