Senator Aisha Dahiru Ahmed, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recently held gubernatorial elections in Adamawa State, has filed an ex-parte application at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking an order to stop further action on the ongoing election results.
The application, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/510/2023, requests the court to allow Senator Aisha to seek an “order of prohibition and certiorari” to remove the administrative decision made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in declaring the winner of the election held on March 18, 2023, and the supplementary election held on April 15, 2023.
The APC was listed as the second applicant, while INEC, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the incumbent governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, were cited as the first to third respondents.
Senator Aisha is also seeking an order preventing INEC and any agent acting on its behalf from taking any further steps towards declaring the winner of the gubernatorial election until the application for judicial review is determined.
