After eight years of leading Nigeria in various capacities, President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his gratitude to Nigerians for tolerating him during his tenure.
During the 9th and final Sallah homage held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Buhari revealed that he can no longer wait to retire to his hometown in Daura. He considered the Sallah celebration as an opportunity to bid farewell to Nigerians and apologized to those he may have wronged during his time in office.
The President also took a swipe at those who questioned the integrity of the Supreme Court, revealing that he lost all his election cases in court despite all the justices being Muslims from the north.
Notable personalities present at the event included Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, among others.
Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, noted the successful transformation of the country’s infrastructure under Buhari’s leadership. The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of a giant Sallah greetings card to the President.
