The Transition Chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, Hon. Clem Aguiyi, had on Friday, May 26, 2023, distributed 60 pieces of oil palm extracting machines as empowerment to women in the six communities (Abba, Abagana, Enugwu Agidi, Enugwu Ukwu, Nawfia, and Nimo).
The presentation, which was held at the Njikoka Local Government Secretariat Complex in Abagana, attracted beneficiaries across the eighteen wards of the local government area.
In his remarks, Aguiyi said the machines were distributed based on the immediate needs of the beneficiaries to be self-productive.
According to him, “nothing is too much to give to my people who produced me; I know their pain and would do my best to cater for their needs.”
He expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would ensure judicious use of the machines for them to be able to impact positively on other less privileged people in the constituency.
The mayor urged party members who are not beneficiaries not to see themselves as less important, saying that they would also benefit in the near future.
He stated that governance is meant to lift people out of poverty through various targeted people-oriented empowerments and initiatives.
