The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, an Igbo socio-cultural organization, has expressed its dissatisfaction with the continued detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The group is concerned about the federal government’s alleged disobedience of court orders pertaining to Kanu’s release and freedom. The organization is also calling on the government to address the health challenges faced by Kanu and urgently grant him access to medical treatment.
Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide made these statements following its National Executive Council meeting in Enugu, which was led by Mazi Livinus Obasi Onu. The organization also passed a vote of confidence on the NEC delegation to Lagos State.
Additionally, it urged all well-meaning Nigerians to stand up against injustice and neglect, particularly those citizens in various IDP camps and those unduly kept in detention as prisoners of conscience in correctional facilities across Nigeria.
