Aja-Ajanze Holds Consultative Session with Stakeholders Ahead of Constituency-Wide Medical Outreach in Anambra

Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi (Aja-Ajanze) Deputy House Minority Whip

Ahead of the largest medical outreach ever planned for Anaocha, Njikoka, and Dunukofia Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. George Ibezimako Ozodinobi, popularly known as Aja-Ajanze and currently serving as Deputy House Minority Whip, on Thursday, August 28, 2025, met with contact persons and community stakeholders to finalize preparations for the programme scheduled to commence on September 2, 2025, across 22 communities.

The medical outreach programme, which will be executed by the Federal College of Land Resources Technology, Owerri, the consulting agency contracted by the Federal Government, is designed to bring free healthcare to thousands of constituents.

The consultative session opened with the breaking of kolanut by Hon. Ozodinobi before he warmly welcomed the stakeholders, many of whom are the officially designated contact persons responsible for coordinating the outreach in their respective towns.

In his address, the lawmaker outlined detailed guidelines for the exercise, noting that it will feature a 40-member medical team comprising 30 doctors and licensed nurses. He educated the contact persons on their roles, stressing the need for proper mobilization and awareness in each community.

To this end, Hon. Ozodinobi informed them that adequate funds had been provided to enable each contact person to engage town criers for public announcements and community sensitization. He further directed them to recruit ten additional volunteers per town to support the exercise, assuring that separate funding had been released for this purpose. He also explained that additional provisions have been made for security arrangements, to ensure the safety of patients, volunteers, and medical personnel throughout the outreach.

The lawmaker further disclosed that refreshment arrangements had been put in place, with a caterer commissioned to prepare snacks and drinks for participants and attendees.

Hon. Ozodinobi, however, cautioned the contact persons and stakeholders against politicizing the initiative. He emphasized that the outreach is designed to benefit everyone, irrespective of party affiliation, and warned that no patient should be required to present any party membership card before receiving treatment. He also clarified that the outreach is not proximity-sensitive, as patients are free to access healthcare in any of the 22 participating towns, not just their hometowns.

In his remarks, one of the stakeholders, Hon. Macjoe Onwudinjo, praised Hon. Ozodinobi for his efforts, describing the initiative as impressive given that he has spent barely two years in office but has already achieved so much. He urged the lawmaker to sustain the pace.

Responding, Hon. Ozodinobi thanked the stakeholders for their commendations, explaining that the medical outreach was made possible through the 2025 budget. He assured them that more impactful interventions are underway, pledging that by the end of his four-year tenure, his achievements will outweigh those of others who had represented the constituency for over a decade.

The meeting concluded with a closing prayer. Before departure, Hon. Ozodinobi provided transportation support for all attendees and charged them to ensure the programme delivers excellent results for the people.
