The first Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chinwoke Mbadinuju, has passed away at the age of 78. His son, Cheta Chinwoke Mbadinuju, Esq, announced the sad news on behalf of the family earlier today, April 11, 2023.
Mbadinuju, who was elected Governor of the state on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, served from May 1999 to May 29, 2003. His legacy includes creating the Anambra Vigilante Services and establishing Anambra State University, Uli.
The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has commiserated with the family and the people of Anambra State for the loss. Governor Soludo consoled the family and sympathized with the Uli Community in Ihiala Council Area.
In a statement released by Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, Soludo described Mbadinuju as a great leader and expressed his hope that his good legacies would be sustained. The Governor prayed for the repose of Mbadinuju’s soul.
