ANAN Executive Pays Courtesy Visit To Senator Ekwunife

By Linus Chukwuma

A much different time, the twilight of this past year, on December 31, 2020, the Executive of the esteemed Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, Anambra State Branch, paid a courtesy visit to the A-grade Senator representing Anambra Central, Uche Ekwunife, for the singular intent to congratulate her on the sterling representation luminous in the zone.

It is, therefore, not at all accidental that the association is one of a great many groups that have recently sent in plaudits in appreciation of the woman, whom I recently dubbed the doyenne of the senate.

While speaking, the Chairman of the Anambra state branch, Mrs. Nkechi Ofoedu appreciated Ekwunife for the quality representation and many projects ongoing in the zone. Mrs. Ofoedu said that the state branch of the association is made up of people from different communities in the state and God willing with what is evident that they will keep supporting Ekwunife in her aspirations. That, she said, the branch will do entirely.

In his words of eulogium, Dr. Uche Ezeliora had enough praise for the Senator. He thanked Ekwunife for the things she has done as well as many other things she will do for, not only the zone but Anambra State at large.

Recalling the deeds of Ekwunife, Dr. Ezeliora praised the Senator for remembering the less privileged in his community, Umuoji, Idemili North LGA. He said that upon the news that less privileged families are needed in different communities to benefit from the 14 houses project- 3 bedroom bungalow – he went to bed after the confirmation that Ekwunife was behind the projects.

Speaking further, Dr. Ezeliora, the former Chairman of Idemili North, commended the numerous road projects recently flagged off by the Senator, saying that his community is a beneficiary. In conclusion, he said that he has known the Igbo-ukwu born Senator for many years and he was sure that no project would be abandoned.

Interestingly, just like every association, ANAN, however, is not without its challenges. The association called attention to- the Senator – on the challenges facing the state branch.

Responding, Ekwunife welcomed the association which she is very glad and proud to be a member. She said that it was great that ANAN, Anambra branch found a woman worthy to be the Chairman. The Senator expressed her desire to always identify with the very professional body.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology stated that she is representing 62 communities, 114 wards and also belong to so many organizations. She, however, noted that no community will be left out in her representation.

Most satisfying, though, for the zone, Ekwunife assured that all the projects would be concluded in the coming months: keys to the houses to be handed over to the families in February while over 27 roads construction presently ongoing will be completed before the end of second quarter of 2021.

Ekwunife reassured that more first-class representation awaits Anambra Central. She also enjoined that we have so much to serve people in terms of input and investment to humanity. Ekwunife said that we have to sacrifice a lot to serve well. She reminded, that we are all transient on earth. According to her, one day it will be over.

Earlier during the visit, the Executive officially notified the Senator that the entire members of ANAN, Anambra branch, will before the end of January 2021 pay visit pending the date and time convenient to Ekwunife.

Members present were Dr. Pius Vincent Chukwubuike Nwaokoye, Charles Ogugua Ahiadiluno, Nworie Godwin Okey amongst others.
